Hornby Village Trust – Notices

February 17th.

In support of the Snowdrop Open Day at Hornby Castle HVT will be selling Soup , Sandwiches and Cakes at the Institute. Volunteers to man the stalls and provide sandwiches and cakes are requested.  Names to Allison Griffiths or Jill Calvert please. This should be a lovely family day with a chance to get some fresh air and see the first spring flowers in a beautiful setting, and to work up an appetite!

March 28th – Race night at the Institute.

Come along for all the fun of a day at the races. Master of ceremonies David Howarth.
There will be an opportunity for individuals or local business' to sponsor races and for punters to “buy” individual horses and thus a chance to collect the prize money for a race. For the rest the chance to have a flutter and win cash.
Raffle for prizes. Bar opens 7.30, first race at 8 pm. Tickets £5 from the Institute 015242 22227.

April 18/19th – Roger and Dave.

A night of song and laughter from these well known and loved
local stars.
Book early as this show is always a sell out.
Tickets £12.50 from the Institute.

We are hoping to have regular folk evenings at the Institute and to start these  with an evening with the lead singer from Steeleye Span on Easter Monday. Details to follow

HVT  - The future.?

The HVT is still short of volunteers for the new committee, please think about volunteering and talk to the current committee members about what is involved.

Hornby CRC IT centre

Residents of Hornby and Farleton can now use the IT/computer room in the Institute.
Users of this facility ,which is sponsored by the Adult College, must sign a declaration of use
and register with reception.There is an hourly fee of £2.00 for private use and group bookings
may also be requested.

The Keep Fit Exercise room

This room is now fully operational. Anyone over eighteen years can join the Hornby Fit Club for an introductory annual fee of £50. Following induction the facilities can be used at agreed times during normal business hours. Debbie Willan has kindly volunteered to co-ordinate membership and can be contacted on Hornby 21947 for further details.

Gift Vouchers

These are now on sale and can be exchanged for HVT events, Room bookings, Bar sales and Hornby Fit Club membership. These make ideal ‘Thank you’ and Birthday gifts and help with HVT cashflow..
